On December 1, 2022, at the construction site of Chengdu Dazhou Wanzhou High speed Railway in Jiaozhi Town, Kaijiang County, Dazhou City, the construction of Guangming Tunnel connecting Sichuan and Chongqing was officially started.

Guangming Tunnel, with a total length of about 8.5km, is a single tunnel double track tunnel, located in the low mountain area between parallel mountains, valleys and mountains in eastern Sichuan. It is a shallow hill tunnel, with soft surrounding rock (Grade VI and V) accounting for up to 95% of the tunnel wall rock; About 150 meters to the north of the tunnel is the planned Daxiong Reservoir, and the reservoir water body may infiltrate along the structural fissures. The construction is difficult, with risks such as soft rock, dangerous low gas and large water inflow. According to the preliminary survey, the maximum daily water inflow will reach 25,000 m3, which is equivalent to the storage capacity of 10 standard swimming pools.

Chengdu Dazhou Wanzhou High speed Railway is one of the landmark projects for the construction of Chengdu Chongqing double city economic circle and an important part of the "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network along the river. The line starts from Chengdu Tianfu Station in the west, passes through Ziyang City, Suining City, Nanchong City, Dazhou City, Kaizhou District and Wanzhou District of Chongqing, and connects to the existing Wanzhou North Station of Zhengzhou Chongqing High speed Railway. The main line is 477 km long, with a design speed of 350 km/h and a construction period of 5 years. At present, all 16 sections of Chengdu Wanzhou High speed Railway have been started, and more than 8000 people are working hard on the front line to promote the construction of Chengdu Wanzhou High speed Railway with high standards.Edit/Ma Xue
