Egypt Kangwongbo 500MW PV EPC+O&M project
AMEAPOWER's Abyodos Solar Energy Co., LTD., plans to start construction in the first quarter of 2023, with a construction period of 19 months. The project is located 60 kilometers northwest of Aswan, Egypt. The scope of the project includes the design, procurement, construction, operation and maintenance of photovoltaic power stations.
Egypt's Kangumbo 500MW PV EPC+O&M project is currently the largest single photovoltaic project in Egypt and even Africa. After completion, it will effectively increase the proportion of new energy generation in Egypt, optimize the local power supply structure, reduce the dependence on gas energy, and promote the low-carbon, green and sustainable development of local society and economy.
In recent years, the Egyptian government has been actively improving the country's overall energy structure and vigorously developing renewable energy, including solar and wind power projects with promising prospects. It is expected that by the end of 2035, renewable energy will account for 42 percent of the country's total power generation. The project will further increase the proportion of electricity generated from renewable sources in Egypt, helping to upgrade the local energy supply system to a clean and low-carbon one, and provide power support for the local economy.
China Energy Construction International Group will give full play to its professional advantages in the investment and construction of new energy, extensively and deeply participate in the transformation of Egypt's energy structure, and contribute its wisdom and capability to the local social and economic development.
