On December 5, 2022, the construction of the Chengde Section of the Keshiketen Chengde Connecting Line of Danxi Expressway was officially started. Chai Baoliang, Secretary of Chengde Municipal Party Committee, attended and announced the commencement of construction.

According to the introduction, the Chengde Section of Keshiketeng Chengde Connecting Line of Danxi Expressway is located in Weichang Manchu and Mongolian Autonomous County, with a total length of 106.356km. It adopts the standard of two-way four lane expressway, with a design speed of 100km/h and a subgrade width of 26m. It is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in December 2025.

Wang Yajun, Mayor of Chengde City, said that the Chengde section of the Keshiketeng Chengde connecting line of Danxi Expressway is a part of the national expressway network and is a project planned by the Ministry of Transport, Hebei Province and Chengde City during the 14th Five Year Plan period. After completion, it will form a north-south expressway that runs through Inner Mongolia, Hebei, Beijing and Tianjin. It will play an important role in promoting the coordinated development of regional economy, unblocking energy channels and creating a golden tourism route.
