On December 7, 2022, under the witness of Khalid Farih, Minister of Saudi Investment, CGN Energy International Holding Co., Ltd. and AlJomaih Group signed a framework cooperation agreement in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which will work together to build more than 10 million kilowatt energy projects in Saudi Arabia, Laos, Bangladesh, Azerbaijan and other countries.

At the collective signing ceremony of the China Saudi Investment Memorandum of Understanding, Khaled Farih, the Saudi Minister of Investment, said that China is one of the major economies in the world, and the economies of China and Saudi Arabia are highly complementary. In 2021, the bilateral trade volume between China and Saudi Arabia will be as high as 87.31 billion US dollars. Chinese enterprises are welcome to continue to invest and develop in Saudi Arabia and move towards a brighter future together.

Dai Honggang, Vice President of CGN Energy International and Chairman of Edla Power Holding Co., Ltd., and Al Jomaih Group, on behalf of Sheikh Ibrahim, signed the framework cooperation agreement on behalf of both parties. AlJomaih Group is a well-known enterprise in Saudi Arabia, and its business is in a leading position in the fields of consumption, commerce and industry. According to the agreement, CGNI and AlJomaih Group will jointly develop multiple solar, wind, gas and thermal power generation projects in the Arab Persian Gulf region, Bangladesh, Azerbaijan and other regions in Asia, with a cumulative contracted installed capacity of more than 10 million kilowatts.

The relationship between China and Arab countries has a long history. Since 2012, the China Arab strategic partnership has continued to make new progress, and the joint construction of the the Belt and Road has continued to reach a new level. The signing of this agreement coincides with the convening of the first China Arab Summit, which is a powerful practice of CGN Energy International in helping to jointly build the the Belt and Road.
