On December 10, 2022, the Shenzhen-Shantou Railway, which was designed by the Fourth Railway Academy and participated in the construction of the China Railway 12th Bureau, China Railway 14th Bureau, and China Railway 23rd Bureau, officially started construction. The Shenzhen-Shantou Railway has attracted much attention since the planning of the Bay Area was born. After it is completed, it will realize the development goal of only 30 minutes from the Shenzhen-Shantou Special Cooperation Zone to the central area of Shenzhen.

This line is an important part of the coastal high-speed corridor in the eight-horizontal and eight-vertical high-speed rail main channel of the country's "medium and long-term railway network plan", and it is also a key project to improve the construction of rail transit in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It starts from Shenshan Station of Guangzhou-Shantou Railway, passes through Shenshan Cooperation Zone, Huizhou City, and ends at Xili Station of Shenzhen Hub. Among them, the three stations of Xili, Luobei and Pingshan will also form a comprehensive transportation hub with multiple rail lines such as intercity and subway lines.

The largest group of large-diameter shield tunnels

The tunnel runs parallel to the existing high-speed rail for 43 kilometers at a short distance. During the design process, the design team, through multiple rounds of expert demonstrations, conducted research on parallel construction of existing lines, karst treatment of high-speed railway shield tunnel sections, and long-distance excavation of shield tunnels in hard rock formations, and adopted safe and reliable measures to ensure construction and operation safety.

Because the Shenzhen-Shantou Railway crosses the urban areas of Shenzhen and Huizhou, the economy along the line is highly developed, the pipeline network is densely distributed, and the line has many problems such as intersections with railways, rivers, expressways, urban roads, and sensitive ecological areas. The construction team will use a 13.8-meter large-diameter shield machine in the construction of the Shenshan Railway, and 8 large-diameter shield machines will be constructed at the same time, forming the largest large-diameter shield tunnel group in China.

For the main bridge of the Shenzhen Reservoir Super Bridge on the Shenzhen-Shantou Railway, the construction team will follow the requirements of the design team and use part of the cable-stayed bridge with high and low towers for construction. Its 242-meter main span and one span cross the reservoir. It is a cable-stayed bridge with high and low towers with the longest span of domestic high-speed railways. After completion, it will become a landmark building in the area.

Multiple transportation hubs along the route

To build a station is to build a city. The Xili, Luobei, Pingshan, Huizhou South, and Shenshan stations along the Shenshan Railway are all planned as comprehensive transportation hubs.

Luohu North Station is connected to the Shenshan-Shantou Railway, 3 subways, and 2 medium-capacity traffic lines. The surrounding roads will also be upgraded and transformed. It will become the traffic bridgehead of the northern gateway of Luohu District and accelerate the process of urban expansion to the north.

Huizhou City plans to extend Shenzhen Metro Line 14 to Huizhou South Station, and build new rail transit Line 1 to connect with the main urban area. Huizhou South Station will form a connection with Xiamen-Shenzhen, Shenshan and other 2 high-speed railways, 2 subways, supplemented by urban road traffic Connected transportation hub.

Shenshan Station is located in the Shenshan Cooperation Zone. It is planned to connect two high-speed railways including Guangshan and Shenshan, and integrates two medium-capacity lines, two small-capacity lines and various connection facilities, becoming the most important external comprehensive transportation in the cooperation zone. hub.
