On December 10, 2022, the whole line of Shenzhen Shantou Railway in Guangdong was officially started. After the line is completed, it only takes 30 minutes for Shenzhen Shantou Special Cooperation Zone to reach the central area of Shenzhen.
The line starts from Shenzhen Shantou Station of Guangzhou Shantou Railway and passes through Shenzhen Shantou Cooperation Zone and Huizhou City to Xili Station of Shenzhen Terminal. The total length is 125.52 km, and the design speed is 350 km/h. There are six stations along the line, namely Xili, Luohu North, Shenzhen Pingshan, Huizhou South, Huidong and Shenshan. Among them, Xili, Luohubei and Pingshan stations will also form a comprehensive transportation hub with intercity, subway and other rail lines.
There are 18 new tunnels of 90.29km and 38 bridges of 25.979km along the whole line, with a bridge tunnel ratio of 92.63%. The total construction period is 5 years. The approved budget for the preliminary design of the project is 48.79 billion yuan.
Shenzhen Shantou Railway crosses Shenzhen and Huizhou urban areas, with highly developed economy and densely distributed pipeline networks. The line crosses railways, rivers, expressways, urban roads and sensitive ecological areas for many times, which makes the design and construction difficult. 13.8m large-diameter shield machine is adopted, and 8 large-diameter shield machines are used for construction at the same time. There are many shield machines, forming the largest large-diameter shield tunnel group in China.Editor/Ma Xue
