On December 15, 2022, China's first nuclear energy industrial heating project was officially completed and put into use in Zhejiang Haiyan. This is another major breakthrough in the comprehensive utilization of nuclear energy made by Qinshan Nuclear Power and Haiyan County of CNNC since the completion of the first phase of Zhejiang Haiyan Nuclear Energy Heating Demonstration Project in 2021. It has built China's first nuclear energy industrial heating demonstration platform, providing a "China Nuclear Program" for clean energy replacement in industrial parks.

After the project is completed and put into operation, it can provide 24-hour thermal energy supply guarantee. The annual industrial heat supply is about 288000 GJ, which is equivalent to saving about 10000 tons of standard coal and reducing about 24000 tons of carbon dioxide. It is of great significance to the local ecological environment protection and energy conservation and consumption reduction.

In order to actively promote the diversified development of nuclear heating, explore the application of nuclear heating in public welfare, public construction, agriculture, commerce and other fields, and further fulfill the responsibility of central enterprises, Qinshan Nuclear Power will also work with Haiyan County to continue to promote the extensive use of nuclear heating, continue to promote the promotion of nuclear heating in residential communities in Haiyan County, and promote the transformation of nuclear heating in schools, shopping malls and completed communities through connecting the heating facilities in new communities, Send the warmth of nuclear energy to thousands of households in Haiyan.Editor/Ma Xue
