Recently, the hat beam and wave wall construction of the breakwater wharf phase II project of the Angola Cabinda Port Project, undertaken by China Energy China Gezhouba Construction Company, has been fully completed, marking the successful completion of the main project of the breakwater wharf, and the project has entered the final acceptance stage.
According to reports, Angola's Cabinda Province is located in West Africa, bordering the Congo (Kinshasa) in the southeast, bordering the Congo (Brazzaville) in the north, and bordering the Atlantic coast in the west. . However, the airport in Cabinda Province is small in scale, with a small volume of cargo transportation and extremely high transportation costs, mainly by sea. Currently, the only cargo terminal in use in Cabinda Province is a temporary emergency terminal. The wharf is greatly affected by surges, and the cargo throughput is difficult to meet the demand, and the design service life is only 5 years, which has exceeded the service life.
Angola Cabinda Breakwater Wharf Project
The Angola Cabinda breakwater wharf project is a follow-up project of the temporary emergency wharf in Cabinda. It consists of two parts: the sea access road and the wharf berth. 2 berths. According to the person in charge of the Angola Cabinda Port Project of China Gezhouba Group, the completion of the breakwater wharf of the Cabinda Port Project not only adds a new way for local residents to travel, but also completely solves the problem that cargo ships cannot dock during swell periods. Safe docking will also alleviate the pressure on ships and promote local economic development.
The breakwater wharf project is constructed in two phases. The first phase is 300 meters in length and is used for berthing passenger ships. It has successfully completed the temporary acceptance in May 2022, put it into operation, and entered the warranty period. The second phase of the project has a length of 360 meters and is used to dock ro-ro cargo ships and 10,000-ton container ocean-going ships.
As an important livelihood project in Angola, the Cabinda port project consists of the breakwater wharf project and the ocean passenger terminal project. The Ocean Passenger Terminal has been put into operation at the end of April this year, and is expected to transport 30,500 passengers a year. This project has made it possible for ocean passenger transport to replace flights in and out of Cabinda Province, providing more convenience for residents to travel. After the completion of the breakwater terminal, the unloading capacity is expected to be three times that of the temporary emergency terminal, which will greatly alleviate the shortage of local materials, provide a large number of jobs, and improve the living standards of local residents.
