A reporter from Seedao.com recently learned from the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning that recently, the branch line of the northern extension of Line 8 (Jiangfu-Memorial Hall) has issued a pre-approval announcement for environmental impact assessment. According to the EIA report, the line has been approved in November. The line is about 20.0 kilometers long, passes through Yuexiu District and Baiyun District, and has 10 stations, including 7 transfer stations.

Citizens may be a little unfamiliar with the branch line of the northern extension of Line 8. They are more familiar with the Beiyanjiangfu section of Line 8 (Jiaoxin~Jiangfu) and the northern extension of Line 8 in the environmental assessment stage of the construction planning adjustment of the third phase of the Guangzhou Metro. Dismantling line (Line 24, Guangzhou North Railway Station ~ Memorial Hall). The latest approval shows that the above two lines have been adjusted to the north extension of Line 8 (Jiaoxin~Guangzhou North Station), and the branch line of the north extension of Line 8 (Jiangfu~Memorial Hall), and the name of Line 24 no longer appears.

"Metamorphosis" on the northern extension of Line 8

From the north extension section of Line 8 (Jiaoxin~Guangzhou North Station) planned for the third phase of construction, to the north extension section of Line 8 (Jiaoxin~Jiangfu) adjusted for the third phase of construction planning plus the north extension section of Line 8 Dismantle the line (Line 24, Memorial Hall~Guangzhou North Station), and then to the newly approved northern extension of Line 8 (Jiaoxin~Guangzhou North Station) plus the branch line of the northern extension of Line 8 (Jiangfu~Memorial Hall) , what happened?

In September 2016, the "Guangzhou Urban Rail Transit Recent Construction Plan (2016-2022) Environmental Impact Report" was completed, planning 10 lines, including the north extension of Line 8 (Jiaoxin~Guangzhou North Station). In March 2017, the National Development and Reform Commission approved the "Guangzhou City Urban Rail Transit Phase III Construction Plan (2017-2023)", and the north extension of Line 8 (Jiaoxin~Guangzhou North Station) was included.

In December 2020, the construction and planning adjustment of the third phase of Guangzhou Urban Rail Transit started, including three lines: the northern extension of Line 8 (Jiaoxin~Jiangfu), the dismantling line of the northern extension of Line 8 (Line 24, Guangzhou North Railway Station ~ Memorial Hall), the east extension of Line 8 (Lianhua ~ Wanshengwei), the total length of the line is 59.0 kilometers, and there are 29 stations.

This adjustment is equivalent to "dividing the north extension section of Line 8 (Jiaoxin~Guangzhou North Station) approved in 2017 into two, and one section is the North Yanjiangfu section of Line 8 (Jiaoxin~Jiangfu), and the rest The Jiangfu-Guangzhou North Station section is the dismantling line of the northern extension of Line 8. The line further extends to the urban area to the Memorial Hall, and adopts a new number - Line 24 (Memorial Hall-Guangzhou North Station). In September 2021, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment approved and issued the review opinion on the "Report on the Environmental Impact of the Third Phase Construction Planning and Adjustment of Guangzhou Urban Rail Transit".

In November 2022, according to relevant approvals, the dismantling line of the northern extension of Line 8 (Line 24) Jiangfu-Guangzhou northern section project will be adjusted to the northern extension of Line 8, and the rest will be branch lines of the northern extension of Line 8. The specific plan is: the north extension of Line 8 (Jiaoxin~Guangzhou North Station), with a total length of 21.0 kilometers, and a total of 11 stations; Stand 10 seats.

Compared with the environmental impact report approved by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment in September 2021, the latest approval in November 2022 is equivalent to "returning things to their original owners". Based on the branch line.

According to the latest approval, the first and last stations of the northern extension of Line 8 (Jiaoxin~Guangzhou North Station) approved in 2017 remain unchanged, and the mileage is slightly adjusted; the name of Line 24 no longer appears, and it is changed to Line 8 North extension branch. Because part of it was "returned" to the northern extension of Line 8, after Line 24 became a branch line of the northern extension of Line 8, the length was shortened and the number of stations decreased.

There are 10 stations on the entire 20-kilometer line

Due to changes in the line, Line 24 no longer exists, and the branch line project of the northern extension of Line 8 needs to re-evaluate the environment. The line is about 20.0 kilometers long, from Jiangfu to Memorial Hall, passing through Yuexiu District and Baiyun District. It is completely laid underground, with a total of 10 stations, including 7 transfer stations, with an average station distance of 1.9 kilometers. The whole line adopts 6 marshalling A-type cars, with a maximum design speed of 100 kilometers per hour.

There are 7 transfer stations on the branch line of the northern extension of Line 8 (Jiangfu-Memorial Hall). Set up Ziyuangang Station on the south side of the intersection of Jiefang North Road and Sanyuanli Avenue to transfer to Line 11; set up Baiyun Station and Line 12 on the east side of Baiyun Railway Station , Fangbai Intercity, and Guangqing Intercity Transfer; set up Huangshi Station on the south side of the intersection of Huangshi West Road and transfer to the planned Line 29; set up Xiamao Station on the west side of the intersection of Xiamao Avenue to transfer again with Fangbai Intercity ; On the northwest side of the intersection of Xinshi Road and Guanghua Highway, Junhe Station is set up to transfer to the planned Line 34; on the northwest side of the intersection of Taoyuan West Street, Taoyuan Station is set up to transfer to the planned Line 39.

Compared with the previous EIA of Line 24, after being shortened to the branch line of the northern extension of Line 8, the station location of this section basically remains unchanged. The long-term passenger flow forecast shows that the line will be extended to Lijiao in the future and run across the north extension of Line 8, which is equivalent to running on the original Line 24 (Guangzhou North Station-Lijiao). The passenger flow data of long-term cross-line operation is also the same as the number of Line 24 EIA. Editor/Xu Shengpeng
