On December 27, 2022, on the electronic display screen of the production command center of PetroChina Changqing Oilfield, the natural gas production curve jumped to 50 billion cubic meters, reaching 50.06 billion cubic meters, marking China's first large-scale gas production area with an annual output of 50 billion cubic meters.

As the largest natural gas production base in China, the natural gas produced by Changqing Oilfield is transported to Ningxia in the west, Inner Mongolia in the north, Beijing Tianjin Hebei in the east, the Yangtze River Delta in the south, and Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

In 2022, Changqing Oilfield will have built the largest gas field capacity in history. 2338 gas wells will be put into production throughout the year, with a daily output of 31 million cubic meters of natural gas, ensuring that the daily gas production will reach more than 160 million cubic meters at the peak of this winter and next spring.Editor/Ma Xue
