At 10:00 a.m. on the 27th of 2022, on the electronic display screen of the production command center of PetroChina Changqing Oilfield, the natural gas production curve jumped to 50 billion cubic meters, reaching 50.06 billion cubic meters, marking China's first large-scale gas production area with an annual output of 50 billion cubic meters.
As the largest natural gas production base in China, the natural gas produced by Changqing Oilfield is transported to Ningxia in the west, Inner Mongolia in the north, Beijing Tianjin Hebei in the east, the Yangtze River Delta in the south, and Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in the south. It undertakes the role of gas consumption and peak shaving in hundreds of large and medium-sized cities, and injects green momentum into national major regional strategies and regional coordinated development. Up to now, Changqing Oilfield has produced more than 555 billion cubic meters of natural gas, which is equivalent to replacing 720 million tons of standard coal and reducing 1.956 billion tons of carbon dioxide and other emissions.
The Ordos Basin oil and gas resources developed by Changqing Oilfield are typical "three low" (low permeability, low pressure, low abundance) oil and gas fields. With the continuous scientific research, Changqing Oilfield has continuously broken through the key core technologies for the exploration and development of low permeability, ultra-low permeability and tight gas fields, enabling the "three low" oil and gas reservoirs to generate huge energy.
In recent years, Changqing Oilfield has continued to promote the digital transformation and intelligent upgrading of natural gas development, "installing" the production and management elements of more than 20000 gas wells, more than 500 stations (plants), and 30000 kilometers of gas pipelines into computers, focusing on mouse control, and accelerating the transformation of production methods and management models to new industrialization. In 2022, Changqing Oilfield will have the largest gas field capacity in history. 2338 gas wells will be put into production throughout the year, with a daily output of 31 million cubic meters of natural gas, ensuring that the daily gas production will reach more than 160 million cubic meters at the peak of this winter and next spring.Editor/Xing Wentao
