In the coastal city of Seni in central Croatia, giant windmills stand in the green mountains and turn against the wind. This is a Seni wind power project invested and constructed by Northern International Cooperation Co., Ltd., affiliated to China Northern Industry Co., Ltd., which will be officially put into operation in December 2021.
The chief engineer of the project, Zlatko Pupic, is a native of Seni. He said that due to the proximity to the sea, the local wind energy resources are rich, but limited by the relatively backward power generation infrastructure, the local power supply has long been dependent on imports. As an engineer, the construction of wind power station is Pupic's wish for many years: "Having a wind power station built and operated independently is of great benefit to promoting local economic development and improving the national energy structure."
The construction of Seni Wind Power Project was commenced in November 2018. As the largest power project in Croatia in recent years, the project has attracted attention from all walks of life. "From the beginning of the project, we kept active communication with the local government, strictly complied with various laws and regulations, used a lot of new and high environmental protection technologies, listened to the opinions and suggestions of local people on the project, and optimized and updated the scheme at any time." Shan Jun, deputy general manager of Northern International, introduced that the project was well received by the Croatian environmental department during the acceptance.Editor/Ma Xue
