On December 27, 2022, Hebei Xingtai Pumped Storage Power Station Project was commenced in Xindu District. The project is a key implementation project of the "Fourteenth Five Year Plan" of the country. It is a specific practice of vigorously and orderly promoting carbon peaking and carbon neutralization, and accelerating the construction of a clean, efficient and diversified energy province.

Xingtai Pumped Storage Power Station Project is located in Jiangjunmu Town and Jiangshui Town in the western mountain area of Xindu District, with a total installed capacity of 1200 MW, mainly including upper reservoir, water conveyance system, underground powerhouse, ground switch station and lower reservoir. Four vertical shaft single-stage mixed flow fixed rotation reversible pump turbines with a single unit capacity of 300 MW are arranged, with a total investment of 8.47 billion yuan and a construction period of 5 years.
