On the morning of January 27, 2023, a number of major projects in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, were started: the reconstruction and expansion project of South Jiangsu Shuofang International Airport and the project of Wuxi International Mail Exchange Bureau were launched, and the DHL Express Wuxi Port was officially put into operation.

The project is located in Xinwu District, Wuxi City, with an investment of about 3.5 billion yuan. It will build a new airport apron including international and domestic cargo depot, tower air traffic control building, parallel taxiway and 24 parking bays. Among them, the first flight zone project to be started is planned to be completed and put into use in the first half of 2025. The completion of the project will significantly improve the efficiency of airport passenger and cargo resource allocation, meet the development goal of 500000 tons of cargo and mail throughput in 2030 and the development demand of continuous growth of aviation business volume.

At the same time, the project of Wuxi International Mail Interchange Bureau, which was started, will exert the supervision function of the International Mail Interchange Bureau and the exchange station, cross-border e-commerce, and commercial express in one, undertake the business of EMS express package distribution outside the Yangtze River Delta region, and realize the local direct customs clearance of international mail. The construction area of Phase I is about 66200 square meters, and the total investment is about 450 million yuan.

On January 28, 2023, Xishan District held the opening ceremony of the regional major industrial projects and the China-Europe Intelligent Equipment Industrial Park. At the event site, 27 major industrial projects were launched, with a total investment of more than 27.4 billion yuan. The main venue of the event is located at the project site in the south area of China-Europe Intelligent Equipment Industrial Park. The EU-China Intelligent Equipment Industrial Park is a characteristic professional park built by the development zone with an investment of about 3 billion yuan. It is divided into two zones, the north zone and the south zone. The construction of the north zone was started in June 2021 and has now been completed.

The project in the south area of the China-Europe Intelligent Equipment Industrial Park, which started this time, is located in the south of Gaodeng Road and the east of Tongyun Road, with a land area of about 163 mu and a building area of about 180000 square meters. In addition to the multi-storey plant, a high-standard high-rise plant is also planned to meet the industrial development needs of industrial upstairs. At the same time, it is equipped with comprehensive service center, shared roadshow exhibition hall, conference forum, restaurant, high-quality serviced apartment and other park supporting facilities.Editor/Ma Xue
