On January 27, 2023, Fiji time, PowerChina and the Fiji Water Authority held a signing ceremony to formally sign the design and construction contract for the Fiji Wella DN900 water supply pipeline. Philip Tusawa, Minister of Public Works and Meteorological Services of Fiji, and Titus, Permanent Secretary, attended the ceremony and witnessed the signing of the contract. Amit Chanan, CEO of Fiji Water Authority, signed on behalf of the owner. Relevant personnel of the river water supply project participated in the activity.

It is understood that the signing ceremony was held at the Rewa River Water Supply Project in Fiji undertaken by PowerChina. Minister Philippe listened to the work report of the Power China team on the spot, affirmed the progress and achievements made by the project department overcoming many difficulties, and highly appreciated Power China's performance ability and outstanding performance. He pointed out that the Rewa River water supply project is a key livelihood project in Fiji. He hoped that PowerChina would give full play to its own advantages, ensure the progress of the project, ensure that the project will be put into operation on schedule, and benefit local residents as soon as possible.
The relevant person in charge of PowerChina thanked the Ministry of Public Works and Meteorological Services of Fiji and Minister Philip for their support and trust, and expressed that they will actively organize resource investment, complete the Rewa River project on schedule and ensure quality, and start the construction of the Wela Water Supply Pipeline Project as soon as possible to help Fiji's economy and society develop.
It is understood that PowerChina has entered the Fiji market since 2008, and has successively completed the construction of the Nadrewatu Renewable Energy Power Station Project and the Vinisaulu Dam Heightening Project. In April 2019, PowerChina and the Fiji Water Authority signed a contract for the implementation of the Rewa River Water Supply Project in Fiji. The project is expected to be completed in May 2023.
