On January 31, 2023, Huidong Leiqing Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. issued a notice of winning the EPC general contract for Huizhou Huidong 500MW/1000MWh independent energy storage power station project. The winning bidder is SINOMACH International Engineering Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd.

Project Overview

The 500MW/1000MWh independent energy storage power station project in Huidong County, Huizhou City is located in Baipenzhu Township of the county. Baipenzhu Town is located in the north east of Huidong County, between 115°0'-115°15' east longitude and 22°58'-23°11' north latitude. Gonggong Town of Feng County borders Haicheng Town, adjacent to Chishi Town of Haifeng County to the south, Duozhu Town of Huidong County to the west, and Andun Town and Baokou Town of Huidong County to the north. The town government is about 35km away from the county seat. Is a mountain town.

The project plans to build a 500MW/1000MWh independent energy storage power station by using the agricultural land near Shiyaxia, 350 meters north of Muhua Village, Baipenzhu Town, Huidong County, Huizhou City, Guangdong Province, and build a 220kV step-up station. The 220kV output line is connected to Huizhou power grid. After the project is put into production, it will participate in new energy capacity leasing, peak-shaving and frequency-regulating auxiliary services in the Guangdong power market, and improve the reliability of power supply in the power system.

The energy storage system consists of 145.5 energy storage units, each with a capacity of 3.45MW/6.88MWh. The above energy storage units are divided into 24 energy storage subsystems, of which No. 1 to No. 23 energy storage subsystems each The energy storage subsystem is composed of 6 energy storage units with a capacity of 20.7MW/41.28MWh; No. 24 energy storage subsystem is composed of 7.5 energy storage units with a capacity of 25.875MW/51.6MWh; The 35kV cable is connected to the 35kV busbar of the energy storage booster station. The battery cell adopts lithium iron phosphate battery with high cycle life, the rated voltage is 3.2V, the rated capacity is 280Ah, and the charge and discharge rate is 0.5C.
