On February 8, 2023, the Jiamusi Tongjiang Import and Export Trade Processing Zone Investment Promotion and Tongjiang Foreign Economic and Trade Fair was officially held in Harbin. As the only international port between China and Russia with simultaneous access to waterways, highways and railways, Tongjiang City signed 20 projects at the meeting, with a contracted amount of 12.3 billion yuan and foreign investment of 8 million US dollars.

Zhang Dawei, secretary of the Tongjiang Municipal Party Committee, delivered a speech at the meeting and promoted the investment environment of Tongjiang City. Zhang Dawei said that Tongjiang Port has outstanding advantages. It is the only international port between China and Russia with three routes of waterway, highway and railway. It has become a new highland for China to open to the north. Tongjiang vigorously promotes platform construction with strong support, especially the construction of 9 projects in Jiamusi Tongjiang Import and Export Trade Processing Zone with an investment of 4.12 billion yuan, and China (Tongjiang) Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone was successfully approved , the leadership and competitiveness of export-oriented industries are more prominent. Tongjiang City will focus on seeking extensive cooperation in the five major areas of park construction and operation, resource landing processing, international trade logistics, agricultural and sideline product processing, and global tourism.

Liu Haicheng, secretary of the party group of the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Commerce, said that the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Commerce will actively perform the functions of attracting investment and developing foreign economic and trade work, support Tongjiang City in building and making good use of a major open platform for import and export trade processing zones, and give the largest development enterprises settled in Tongjiang support.

Oshepkov, Consul General of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Harbin, said at the meeting that Russia and China will build new cross-border logistics channels, optimize the existing customs clearance mode at border ports, and vigorously promote the implementation of new border projects between the two places.
