Recently, the Jurong Island energy storage project in Singapore, contracted by Energy China Shanxi Institute, was officially put into use. Chen Shilong, Singapore's Minister of Manpower and Second Minister of Trade and Industry, was invited to attend the opening ceremony. Government departments such as the Singapore Energy Agency, Singapore Sembcorp Industries Group, Shanxi Institute Singapore Branch and Energy Storage Project Department, owner representatives and relevant responsible persons were invited to participate.

Chen Shilong pointed out that Singapore, as one of the cities with the highest density of solar panels in the world, has adopted a number of decarbonization measures to promote energy transformation. The completion of the Jurong Island energy storage project is of great significance for actively responding to the mismatch between power supply and demand, regulating services to alleviate power grid fluctuations, and greatly assisting in maintaining the reliability of the local power grid. Chen Shilong said that the smooth operation of the project marks that the energy storage goal in Singapore's 2030 Green Plan has been achieved ahead of schedule.

Singapore Jurong Island Energy Storage Project

Since the signing of the general contract on June 15, 2022, Energy China Shanxi Institute has actively coordinated resource allocation, efficiently connected many interfaces, and rapidly advanced the project progress. On the 20th and November 24th, the full-capacity grid connection was successfully realized. The project as a whole passed the system performance test and acceptance of the Singapore Energy Agency before November 30th, and was ready for commercial operation. It was completed and put into operation as scheduled.

Singapore's Jurong Island energy storage system is currently the largest energy storage system in Southeast Asia, covering an area of 2 hectares - equivalent to the size of nearly three football fields. In December 2022, the project will be officially put into operation.

As the EPC general contractor of the energy storage project in Singapore, Shanxi Institute has worked together from top to bottom, showing strong professionalism and execution ability. After five and a half months of engineering construction, Shanxi Institute continued to optimize the design plan, actively connected with many interfaces, strengthened safety and quality management, completed project performance with high quality, and continuously polished the brand image of the company in the international market.
