This project is the key implementation project of the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" of the National Pumped Storage Medium and Long-term Development Plan (2021-2035) and the medium and long-term construction project of the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" of Energy Development in Gansu Province. It is also the largest pumped storage power station under construction in Gansu Province at present, with a total installed capacity of 2.1 million kilowatts, a design annual power generation of 2.35 billion kilowatt-hours, and an annual pumping capacity of 3.133 billion kilowatt-hours. The project construction is of great significance to promote the integrated development of local primary, secondary and tertiary industries, improve the ecological environment and the production and living conditions of the surrounding people, and promote the sustainable development of local economy; After being completed and put into operation, it will mainly serve the Gansu power grid and undertake the tasks of peak shaving and valley filling, energy storage, frequency modulation, phase modulation and emergency standby, which can enhance the peak shaving capacity of the power grid, improve the operating conditions of the power grid, and improve the security and stability of the power grid.
