Recently, the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan introduced the construction of cross-border trade centers in Kazakhstan. Before 2026, it is planned to build 6 cross-border trade centers.

Six Cross-border Trade Centers

According to relevant information from the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, an industrial trade and logistics center will be built on the border between Zhambyl State and Kyrgyzstan, and a Central Asia International Industrial Cooperation Center will be established on the border between Turkestan State and Uzbekistan. Establish a Eurasian cross-border trade center on the border with Russia in the Sikh region. The Ministry said that the Caspian Sea Hub Container Center will be built in Mangistau State, and the Khorgos Hub Border Trade Center will be built in the border area with China.

It is reported that the trade and logistics center is designed to ensure warehousing, storage, processing, new product production and further integration into the international commodity distribution system. In addition, short-term warehousing, logistics, transaction space leasing, pre-sale preparation, bulk cargo consolidation and redistribution, loading and unloading, and development of cross-border cargo transportation will also be provided. The Cross-Border Trade Center is expected to cover the export potential of enterprises from all regions of Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan pointed out that the development of infrastructure complexes in border areas will create conditions for the implementation of industrial cooperation projects, including reducing the number of participants in the supply chain, reducing product costs for final consumers, and increasing delivery speed. It is predicted that the establishment of a large-scale trade and logistics center will have a positive impact on the development of bilateral trade and economic relations, strengthen commercial links between producers and entrepreneurs in neighboring countries, and promote the growth of mutual trade volume between the two countries.
