Recently, the 765 kV GIS and GIL equipment procurement contract for the complete set of electromechanical equipment for the Dasu Hydropower Station in Pakistan was officially signed in Changsha.

Dasu Hydropower Project

According to reports, the Dasu Hydropower Station is located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khyber-Putush Province, Pakistan, and the project site is about 350 kilometers away from Islamabad. The project funds are self-raised by the owner and loaned by the World Bank. The joint venture formed by Zhongnan Institute and GE Electric Hydropower Equipment China Co., Ltd. signed the project contract on November 25, 2019, and is responsible for the implementation of the project. The total installed capacity of the project is 4320 MW, and the underground workshop will be constructed in two phases. The owner is Pakistan Water Resources and Hydropower Development Agency WAPDA. The installed capacity of the first phase of the power station is 2160 MW, 6X360 MW, and the voltage level of the step-up station is 765 kV. It is a key hydropower project in Pakistan.

From 2020 to 2022, the Central South Institute and Xiamen ABB High Voltage Switchgear Co., Ltd. conducted several rounds of online and offline face-to-face negotiations on the GIS, GIL equipment technology and business aspects of the Dasu project in Pakistan. After two years of unremitting efforts, they reached With a full and consistent understanding and consensus, the signing of the largest procurement contract for the project—GIS and GIL equipment procurement contracts was finally successfully completed.

The signing of this contract is of great significance to the smooth progress of the project, and it also brings an opportunity for China Power Construction to establish in-depth market cooperation with Hitachi Energy China Co., Ltd. and Xiamen ABB High Voltage Switchgear Co., Ltd., which is conducive to continuously expanding the scope and scale of cooperation between the two parties.
