On February 13, 2023, Well Pengshen 6 of Southwest Oil & Gas Field Company located in the Penglai gas region was successfully drilled and cemented. The deepest well was 9,026 meters deep, breaking the record for the deepest vertical well in Asia. Well Pengshen 6 set a new record for the deepest well in Asia. It is a vivid practice of PetroChina to promote the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China to take root and blossom. The construction of the trillion gas region is of great significance, which marks that PetroChina's ultra-deep well drilling capacity has reached a new level.

Well Pengshen 6 is located in Yanting County, Mianyang City. It is a key pre-exploration well for exploring the Dengying Formation in the Penglai Gas Area. Well Pengshen 6 was drilled by Team 90025 of PetroChina Chuanqing Drilling Company, and it will be drilled on July 5, 2021.

In drilling, we strengthened the integration of geology and engineering, described fine fractures and faults, established regional three-pressure profiles, and scientifically designed wellbore structures; overcame ultra-high-temperature and high-performance oil-based drilling fluid systems, ultra-long small liner cementing, and ultra-high-temperature small wells Hole logging and other technologies, and realize all-round and fine control of the whole process.

Well Pengshen 6 has complex geological conditions and faces challenges such as a well depth of over 9,000 meters, a well temperature of over 200°C, a formation pressure of over 150 MPa, and a hydrogen sulfide content of over 30 g/m3. Liu Qingyou, president of Chengdu University of Technology, commented that the completion of the Pengshen 6 well indicates that China's drilling equipment and drilling technology are in a leading position in Asia and have reached the world's advanced level in general.

Team 90025 of Chuanqing Drilling Company, which is responsible for drilling Well Pengshen 6, uses a 9,000-meter automatic drilling rig developed by BOMCO, which will leave the factory in May 2021. The drilling rig is equipped with automatic equipment such as drill floor manipulator, iron driller, power catwalk, second floor manipulator, and mud blowout prevention box.

During the drilling operation of the drilling rig, the National Research Center and the sales company successively sent personnel to provide technical services and maintenance knowledge consultation on site, which was highly praised by the drilling team.
