Kano Irrigation Project

According to reports, the Kano Irrigation Project is located in Kano State, Nigeria, with a total irrigation area of 14,444.24 hectares. The main construction content includes the maintenance of three dams, the restoration and expansion of 44 canal systems, the construction of 1,066 kilometers of canals, and the construction of a new three-span bridge Waiting for work.

The project officially started on January 8, 2019, and the main project was completed one year ahead of schedule in December 2022. On February 14, 2023, all the construction contents of the original contract were delivered. During the implementation of the project, in the face of a series of unfavorable factors such as the new crown epidemic, rising global shipping prices, and continued high prices of construction materials in the country where the project is located, the project department strictly controlled the construction progress, quality and safety, actively promoted design changes, and accelerated the project site. The construction progress was completed nearly one year ahead of the contract period.

The completion of the project has improved the irrigation facilities of 200,000 mu of local farmland, improved the yield and quality of local crops, and is of great significance to promoting the people's livelihood in Kano society and promoting economic development. Editor/He Yuting
