On February 26, 2023, the results of the winning bid for the reconstruction and expansion project of the Ningbo-Taizhou-Wenzhou Expressway from Huwu Town to Nantang Junction in Wenzhou, and from Yueqing Junction to Beibaixiang have been released. The project is led by Wenzhou Transportation Development Group Co., Ltd. The consortium formed by Zhejiang Provincial Communications Investment Group Co., Ltd. and Yueqing Communications Water Conservancy Investment Group Co., Ltd. won the bid. The total investment of the project is about 12.319 billion yuan, of which construction and installation costs are 8.076 billion yuan.

Project Overview

The Ningbo-Taizhou-Wenzhou Expressway is an important part of the Zhejiang section of the G15 Shenyang-Haikou National Expressway. It starts from the Panhuo Interchange in the south of Ningbo City and ends at Fenshuiguan at the junction of Zhejiang and Fujian. The total length of the entire line is 367 kilometers, of which the Wenzhou section is the entire length About 158 kilometers, passing through Yueqing City, Yongjia County, Lucheng District, Longwan District, Ouhai District, Ruian City, Pingyang County, and Huanan County in Wenzhou City. The Wenzhou Bridge in Wenzhou was completed and opened to traffic in May 1998, the Yueqing section and the Nanbaixiang-Feiyunjiang section were completed and opened to traffic at the end of 2002, and the Ruian Feiyun-Cangnan Fenshuiguan section was completed and opened to traffic at the end of 2003. Wenzhou Huwu Town to Nantang Junction, Yueqing Junction to Beibaixiang section is operated and managed by Zhejiang Wenzhou Yongtaiwen Expressway Co., Ltd.

This project is divided into two parts

The starting point of the first section from Huwu Town to Nantang Junction is located on the north side of Haitou Village, Huwu Town, Yueqing City. The Nantang hub is interconnected, and it is connected to the G15 Shenhai Expressway Nantang hub to Yueqing hub.

The starting point of the second section from Yueqing Junction to Beibaixiang is located on the north side of Yueqing Junction. It is connected to the G15 Shenhai Expressway from Nantang Junction to Yueqing Junction, passing through Liushi Town, and ending at Beibaixiang Junction. For the Yandang Mountain and Yandang South Tunnel sections, and the about 10 kilometers from the Beibaixiang Hub to the North Interchange of the Bridge, it is recommended to adopt a new three-lane plan with two sides separated, and the addition of a single roadbed shall be controlled at 16.75 meters, and the remaining road sections shall be widened on both sides.
