On February 27, 2023, the last unit (9 # unit) of Baihetan Hydropower Station, the world's largest hydropower project under construction with the highest comprehensive technical difficulty, passed the acceptance. So far, all 16 units of Baihetan Hydropower Station have passed the acceptance.

Located in Ningnan County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province and Qiaojia County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, Baihetan Hydropower Station is the second of the four cascade hydropower stations invested and constructed by the Three Gorges Group in the lower reaches of the Jinsha River. A total of 16 million kilowatt hydroelectric generating units with the largest unit capacity in the world are installed in the power station, with a total installed capacity of 16 million kilowatts. As of February 26, Baihetan Hydropower Station generated 9 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in the year, with a total of 64.65 billion kilowatt-hours.

Baihetan Hydropower Station is the second largest hydropower station in the world after the Three Gorges Hydropower Station. Its annual average power generation can reach 62.443 billion kilowatt-hours, which can meet the domestic power demand of about 75 million people a year.
