The successful operation of the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway has not only shortened the time and space distance between Nairobi and Mombasa, reduced the travel time from 10 hours to less than 5 hours, changed the travel mode and experience of the Kenyan people, but also comprehensively promoted the economic and social development of the regions along Kenya.

Mombasa Nairobi Railway is the largest single infrastructure in Kenya since independence, one of the early harvest projects of China's "three networks and one industrialization" and "the Belt and Road" initiatives in Africa, the "flagship project" of Kenya to achieve its national development vision in 2030, and the "China Standard" whole industry chain project integrating design, construction supervision, financing, equipment procurement and operation management, which adopts the Class I single track standard of China Railway, China Road and Bridge, an overseas platform company of China Communications Construction Corporation, undertook the construction in the EPC mode.

The current President of Kenya, William Luto, commented: "The great facility of the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway will make passenger and freight transportation more convenient, safer and more economical, and the most important thing is that the journey will be relaxing and pleasant." The former President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, also stressed: "I am glad to see the high-quality transportation service in Mombasa-Nairobi, which has strengthened people's travel between the two cities." President Museveni of Uganda said after taking the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway train, The Mombasa-Nairobi Railway has opened a new era of relations between Kenya, Uganda and countries in the East African region. After inspecting the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway, the former leader of the Non-Aligned Alliance, Sim Wincha, said: "Mombasa-Nairobi Railway has achieved excellent results in operation, without accidents and delays."Editor/Ma Xue
