China's external pressure is increasing, and Moscow uses the G20 meeting to support Beijing. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed doubts about the sanity of thinking of those threatening China at a news conference of the ministerial meeting in New Delhi. He said that with regard to the threats issued by China, I doubt whether those threats are of sound thinking. In principle, no one should be threatened, but it is difficult for me to think of threatening China under modern conditions. Of course, our Western counterparts have seriously 'disengaged' from diplomacy. I think they have put diplomacy aside and are just intimidating and threatening.

After China released the "Position on the Political Solution to the Ukraine Crisis", the United States and Western allies have intensified their threats to China, saying that once they provide assistance to Russia, they will impose new sanctions. Foreign Minister Lavrov's remarks about the rationality of actions are aimed at a group of countries, first of all the United States, who are trying to aggravate the world situation to the greatest extent. Everyone knows that China is now the main target of Western attacks. This is not constructive for international relations. China is the only country that has raised the complete question of how to solve the situation in Europe. The Chinese initiative, which is essentially a peaceful solution and should be supported, is being attacked and threatened with new sanctions, on the contrary.

Expert Alexei Maslov firmly believes that the goal of threats and intimidation against China is obvious. He said that the main goal for the West now is not to allow China to achieve a diplomatic victory and use its trump card of crisis resolution. The West wants to maintain a world order that suits them. China is trying to solve the whole world situation, while the United States is doing the opposite, destabilizing the situation, and that's the difference. Therefore, the Russian foreign minister noticed that the West's actions to threaten China have failed badly.

Yang Mian, a professor at the Institute of International Relations at the Communication University of China, said Sergei Lavrov's support for China's statement showed that both countries were opposing US hegemony. After the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the relationship between Russia and the United States has fallen into a state of extreme confrontation, and the United States has also strengthened its suppression of China. For example, it accused China on issues such as human rights, Xinjiang, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Moreover, the United States has frequently spoken out recently, demanding that China not support Russia in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. In this context, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov expressed his support for China and spoke out for China, which also shows that he and China jointly oppose the hegemony of the United States. Of course, there are also considerations based on Russia's interests. China is a sovereign and independent country, free from any threats, and has its own position when dealing with international and domestic affairs. China firmly opposes the United States' arms sales to Taiwan, passage of a series of so-called "Taiwan Acts" and its strategy of using Taiwan to contain China. Including on the Russia-Ukraine issue, China has always upheld a neutral position and advocated promoting peace and talks, because we believe that the position we insist on is correct and conducive to the security of Europe and the peace of the world. As Wang Yi, director of the Central Foreign Affairs Office, said, we never accept the US's finger pointing, or even coercion and pressure.

U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken threatened China at a concluding press conference in New Delhi that if it provides military assistance to Russia, it will bear the consequences of new sanctions. The U.S. secretary of state issued the statement despite Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang's detailed explanation of China's stance on the Ukraine crisis and support for Russia during the G20 meeting with fellow U.S. allies. At the same time, Moscow has repeatedly stated that China has not provided weapons to Russia and that it has sufficient military potential.

Blinken is not unaware of this, but focusing on the obvious does not seem to be the diplomatic tradition of the United States and the West. As the Russian foreign minister pointed out, Western diplomacy has given way to threats and intimidation. Against this background, the first meeting between Foreign Minister Qin Gang and his Russian counterpart is of great significance, including coordinating positions on the European security crisis. Qin Gang called for support for a political solution to the Ukrainian crisis, and opposed fanning the flames and undermining peace talks. He accused the West of double standards, sanctions and repression in addressing European security. Sergey Lavrov spoke highly of China's objective, impartial and constructive role.

Expert Alexei Maslov noticed that it is very important for China and Russia to support each other as the United States suppresses intensified. China and Russia now face the exact same threat, they support each other, and they are getting closer as the US tries to drive them apart. The United States is trying to suppress China, including using threats, with the aim of making China stop supporting Russia, even if it is a moral one.
