According to reports, on February 27, 2023, the China-Laos Railway and Economic Development Exchange Conference was held in Vientiane, the capital of Laos. Ju Guojiang, chairman of the Laos-China Railway Co., Ltd., introduced at the exchange meeting that the volume and quality of passenger and cargo transportation on the Laos section of the China-Laos Railway has increased, exceeding expectations. A total of 1.8294 million passengers and 2.8877 million tons of cargo have been sent. More than 100 species have been expanded to more than 2,000 species, which strongly supports the economic and social development of Laos and the cooperative development between China and Laos.

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Laos stated at the meeting that the Laos-China Railway has greatly facilitated people's travel, promoted the production and export of commodities, attracted a large number of tourists to visit Laos, and achieved double harvests of economic and social benefits.
