On March 9, 2023, the Baotou-Linhe gas pipeline project, the first hydrogen-doped high-pressure long-distance natural gas pipeline in China, started construction in Linhe District, Bayannur City, Inner Mongolia.
Baotou-Linhe gas pipeline project started
According to reports, the project is a key oil and gas pipeline construction project during the 14th Five-Year Plan period of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The starting point of the construction project is Jiuyuan District, Baotou City, passing through Wulateqian Banner and Wuyuan County, Bayannur City, and finally reaching Linhe District. It is 258 kilometers long and the design pressure of the pipeline is 6.3 MPa. There are 10 valve chambers and 3 stations on the whole line. The maximum gas transmission capacity can reach 1.2 billion cubic meters per year. It is expected to be completed and put into use by the end of 2023.
After the completion of the project, the effective connection between the Changqing-Hohhot natural gas pipeline and the Changqing-Wuhai-Linhe natural gas pipeline will be realized, and the goal of interconnection of natural gas pipelines in the central and western regions of Inner Mongolia will be realized, and the natural gas consumption demand in the western part of Inner Mongolia will be further met. It plays an important role in promoting the adjustment and optimization of regional energy structure, promoting the conversion of old and new kinetic energy, and improving the regional atmospheric environment.
It is understood that in order to accelerate the development of the hydrogen energy industry, Inner Mongolia plans to build a pure hydrogen pipeline across the Yellow River at the Kubuqi Desert New Energy Base, and connect it with the Baotou-Linhe natural gas pipeline. Consumption and upgrading of industrial structure have played an important role in boosting and contributing to the protection of national energy security. Editor/He Yuting
