Why did the "steel camel caravan" set new records frequently and connect countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt. On March 14, 2023, the 5,000th Lianyungang China-Europe Railway Express departed from the China-Kazakhstan (Lianyungang) logistics base. This "steel camel team" is about to embark on a journey westward to Central Asia. As the first physical platform project of the "Belt and Road" international economic and trade cooperation, the China-Kazakhstan (Lianyungang) Logistics Cooperation Base has sent 5,000 China-Europe trains, with a transportation volume of over 440,000 TEUs. The train line has gradually expanded from the five Central Asian countries to Turkey, Germany, Russia and other countries, a total of 6 lines, covering 104 international freight stations.

At present, China Railway Express has laid out 82 operating routes, reaching 200 cities in 24 countries in Europe, gradually "connecting dots into a line" and "weaving lines into a network". The transportation service network covers the whole of Europe, and the goods transported involve clothing There are 53 major categories and more than 50,000 categories such as shoes and hats, automobiles and accessories, grain, and wood. The high-quality development of China Railway Express has optimized the regional opening pattern, expanded economic and trade exchanges between China and Europe, deepened international production capacity cooperation, accelerated the transnational flow of factor resources, and injected strong impetus into the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road.
