On March 29, 2023, the intensive start-up of major urban transportation projects in Chongqing was held at the Sports Center Plaza in Yongchuan District. According to reports, the intensive start of construction involves two projects of the urban railway center city to Yongchuan line and Baoshan Jialing River Bridge, with a total investment of 32 billion yuan.

Chongqing Municipal Railway Yongchuan Line

The Central City-Yongchuan line of the city-level railway that has been intensively started this time is the first city-level railway in Chongqing to start construction among the multi-level rail transit planning of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle in the Chengdu-Chongqing area. It is planned to be completed and opened to traffic in 2027.

The total length of the city railway line from the central city to Yongchuan is 68 kilometers. It starts from Chongqing West Railway Station and ends in Yongchuan City. There are 17 stations (15 newly built stations and 2 reserved stations). The designed maximum operating speed is 140 kilometers per hour. The vehicle is a city D-type car. The total travel time of this line is about 50 minutes. It will be connected to the two major transportation hubs of Chongqing West Railway Station and Chongqing New Airport. Baoshan Jialing River Bridge Project

According to the relevant person in charge of Chengtou Construction Company, the Baoshan Jialing River Bridge project is the throat project of the eight-horizontal, seven-vertical, one-ring, nine-connection and middle-five connection lines of the Chongqing expressway network system. It starts from Yuelai area of Liangjiang New District and ends in Caijia area of Beibei District , with a total length of about 3.3 kilometers, designed according to the standard of urban expressway, with 8 lanes in both directions, with a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour, including 2 interchanges (Xiqiaotou Interchange and Chunxuan Interchange), and 1 Jialing River Bridge (Baoshan Jialing River Bridge). Among them, Baoshan Jialing River Bridge is a continuous rigid structure of prestressed concrete with variable cross-section, with a main span of 250 meters.

After the completion of the Baoshan Bridge project, the Caijia area can be connected to the Central Park, Jiangbei Airport and other areas within 10 minutes, further shortening the distance between groups on both sides of the Jialing River, connecting the Caijia Free Trade Pilot Zone, Yuelai Guobo Center, and the Airport Economic Demonstration Areas such as Jiangbei International Airport and other areas will improve the connectivity of important groups such as Caijia, Yuelai, and Central Park to drive economic development along the route.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Chongqing Housing and Urban-Rural Construction Committee, at present, 573 kilometers of urban expressways in the central urban area have been opened to traffic, basically forming an expressway network structure with 1 ring, 6 vertical, 5 horizontal and 3 connections. A total of 37 river-crossing bridges have been built in the central urban area, 22 Extra-long mountain tunnels; 12 rail transit operating lines, with an operating mileage of 501 kilometers. In 2023, Chongqing will speed up the construction of five river-crossing bridges, including the Huangjuetuo Yangtze River Bridge and the Baoshan Jialing River Bridge, and seven mountain-crossing tunnels, including the Science City Tunnel and the Lujiao Tunnel. A number of major projects, such as the southern section of the Sixth Vertical Line, are planned to start the construction of the Jiulongpo Section of Science Avenue, and major projects such as the reconstruction of the Baishubao Interchange and the North Ring Interchange of the Three Vertical Lines, and continue to improve the road network structure in the central urban area. In 2023, Chongqing plans to start construction of two new urban rail lines, the first phase of Line 7 and the first phase of Line 17.
