On the evening of March 30, 2023, Inner Mongolia Huadian announced that the company had recently received the "Reply on the Approval of the Kubuqi Desert Base Ordos New Energy Project 1.2 Million Kilowatt Wind Power Project" from the Ordos Energy Bureau and agreed to build the Kubuqi Desert Base Ordos New energy project 1.2 million kilowatts wind power project.

The announcement shows that the total construction capacity of the project is 600MW, and a new 220KV step-up station will be built; the power generated by the wind turbines will be collected to the 220KV step-up station through a 35KV collector line. The total length of the line path is about 283.82KM, of which, the length of the double-circuit overhead line on the same tower is about 163.48KM, and the length of the single-circuit overhead line is about 120.34KM. The total investment of the project is 3.498 billion yuan, of which 30% is contributed by the enterprise's own funds, and the rest applies for bank loans.
