Build a beautiful Tibet together and help realize the "double carbon" goal. Recently, the world's largest ultra-high-altitude wind power project surveyed and designed by the Northwest Research Institute officially started construction of the 100-megawatt wind farm in Naqu Seni District, Tibet. It will rise on the roof of the world, and the wind power on the snowy plateau will be turned into clean energy to light up .

The project is located in Seni District, Nagqu City, Tibet Autonomous Region. The average altitude of the project site is 4,650 meters, and the total installed capacity is about 100 megawatts. largest wind power project.

The project is scheduled to start construction in April 2023 and be completed and put into operation within the year. After it is put into operation, it can provide about 200 million kWh of clean electricity every year, save about 59,600 tons of standard coal, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 159,600 tons. It is of great significance to improve the ability to guarantee power supply, promote rural revitalization and economic and social development.

Northwest Research Institute always serves the national strategy and continues to undertake the social responsibility of central enterprises. Since 1992, 10 batches of 26 technical and management cadres have been dispatched to assist Tibet. They have also provided think tank services for the government through their own technological and technological advantages, and successively built a large number of hydropower, photovoltaic, wind power and other energy projects in Tibet. On April 8, 2023, the "14th Five-Year Plan" national key research and development plan "Technology for Coordinated Development of Large-Scale Solar Wind Energy System and Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Ecological Environment" led by Northwest Research Institute was officially launched. The coordinated development of the ecological environment lays a theoretical, technical and practical foundation, and contributes to the wisdom and strength of the Northwest Institute for the high-quality development of scenery resources in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau region and the establishment of a new pattern of energy development.
