PowerChina and various Chinese-funded power generation companies in Laos have excellent professional capabilities in the field of power and infrastructure, and have made many contributions to the economic and social development of Laos. PowerChina has developed in Laos for many years and has extensive influence in the local area. In particular, the completion and commissioning of the cascade hydropower stations in the Nam Ou River Basin has played a pivotal role in northern Laos. The development and construction of the project have driven the local area. Production and life in the region and the stable operation of the China-Laos Railway provide a steady stream of high-quality green power. It is hoped that all Chinese-funded power generation companies will continue to cooperate sincerely with relevant departments of the Lao government, the State Power Corporation and other relevant units, broaden channels and deepen diversified exchanges and cooperation, and promote the building of a community of shared future between Laos and China.

Chinese-funded power generation companies registered in Laos, including Power China, have invested in the construction of 18 hydropower stations in Laos, with a total installed capacity of 2,348 megawatts, accounting for 49.7% of the current installed capacity of the Lao national power grid system. The association aims to give full play to the positive role of Chinese-funded power generation companies in Laos in the economic and social development of Laos, and strengthen exchanges and cooperation between Chinese-funded power generation companies in Laos in terms of power production technology, operation and maintenance management, talent education and training, safety and environmental protection, occupational health, and corporate culture. Cooperation, gather the problems and difficulties encountered by Chinese-funded power generation enterprises in Laos in the process of power production and operation, communicate and feedback to the Lao government and competent authorities in a timely manner, promote the construction of market environment, industry standards and wider exchanges and cooperation, and promote the sustainable development of enterprises healthy growth.

Among them, PowerChina, as the chairman unit of the old Chinese-funded power generation enterprise association, invested in the development of the cascade hydropower station in the whole basin of the Nan'ou River and the Nan'e 5 hydropower station, with a total installed capacity of 1392 megawatts, accounting for 50% of the current installed capacity of Chinese-funded power stations Around 30% of Laos’ electricity consumption is generated during the dry season, and the accumulated power generation has exceeded 16.8 billion kwh, continuously injecting new momentum into the economic and social development of Laos.
