From April 10th to 13th, 2023, the special report on the selection of normal water storage level in the feasibility study stage of the Guigang Pumped Storage Power Station in Guangxi, the special report on the research on the hub layout pattern, and the special report on the general layout planning of the construction were successfully held in Guigang City.
Before the meeting, some experts and representatives surveyed the upper reservoir, the lower reservoir and geological exploration caverns and other project sites to learn more about the boundary conditions of project construction such as topography, hub layout, geology, hydrology, and surrounding environment of the construction area.
At the meeting, the participating experts and representatives listened to the report of the China Energy Construction Group Guangxi Electric Power Design and Research Institute on the survey and design results of the special report. After group discussion and deliberation, the participating experts agreed that the design content and work depth of the report meet the feasibility of hydropower projects According to the requirements of the provisional regulations for the preparation of special reports in the research stage, the three special reports of Guigang Pumped Storage Power Station were approved to pass the review.
The Guigang pumped storage power station project is a key implementation project of the national pumped storage medium and long-term development plan (2021-2035). Four 300MW reversible pump-turbine units are installed with a total installed capacity of 1200MW. The total investment of the project is about 8 billion yuan. The project is located in Genzhu Town, Gangbei District, Guigang City. It is the first pumped storage power station built in the city in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It can be built into an eco-tourism brand. After the completion of the power station, it can improve the storage and consumption capacity of new energy such as wind power and photovoltaics in the Guigang grid area and Guangxi grid area, and can play a better role in the transmission of coastal nuclear power, offshore wind power to be developed inland, and the planning of northern power transmission to the southern grid. The regulation function has obvious peak regulation, valley filling, energy storage, frequency regulation, phase regulation and emergency backup functions for Guangxi power grid.
