On April 18, 2023, the main project of the second phase expansion of Taizhou International Airport in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province officially started construction. It is understood that Yangzhou Taizhou International Airport was officially opened to navigation in May 2012. In September 2015, the first-class aviation port was opened. In February 2016, it was upgraded to an international airport. In December 2018, the flight area index was upgraded from 4C to 4E. At present, the runway of the airport is 3,200 meters long, and there are 14 seats on the apron.

The second phase of the expansion project was launched in 2019. It is designed according to the requirements of 10 million passenger throughput, 50,000 tons of cargo and mail throughput, and 88,670 aircraft movements in 2030. The project has been included in the province's key transportation projects, mainly to build a 3200-meter parallel taxiway and 36 passenger and cargo aircraft bays, build a T2 terminal building of about 97,000 square meters and a viaduct, and build a new traffic center of about 30,000 square meters. After the completion of the second phase of the expansion project, the scale of Yangtai Airport will move from one million to tens of millions, which will also add new and greater impetus to the regional economic and social development.

The project will innovatively adopt BIM technology in the whole process, actively explore paperless acceptance, digital audit and digital operation and maintenance, aiming to build a digital twin airport, promote the pilot cost management reform in Jiangsu Province with high quality, and strive to create digital construction of small and medium-sized airports across the country Demonstration projects; promote the integrated management of construction and operation, realize the seamless connection between pre-construction and post-operation, strive for the Luban Award, and create quality projects; implement the new version of "Green Building Evaluation Standards" in 2019, build green terminal buildings, and strive for innovative national standards The first batch of three-star green buildings; design the terminal area with reference to the standards of 5A-level scenic spots, build a tourism distribution center, an airport viewing platform and an aviation research base, promote the construction of cross-border e-commerce and fruit ports, and strive to create the most beautiful tourist airport.
