In order to meet the needs of urban public transportation and boost industrial development, Zhuzhou City has planned and constructed an intelligent rail transit system within the scope of its financial capacity. A total of one horizontal, two vertical and one ring BRT corridors are planned, covering the downtown area of Zhuzhou, with a total length of About 58 kilometers, the total planned investment is about 3 billion yuan. Up to now, the first phase of project construction has been completed and put into operation, and the second phase of project program research is underway.

Changsha-Zhuzhou Intercity Railway

It is reported that the Changsha-Zhuzhou Intercity Railway will adopt the maglev system, which will fully connect Changsha City Subway, Changsha Airport Maglev, Changsha-Zhuzhou-Tanzhou Intercity Railway and other lines, and the general operating speed is about 120km/h. Concretely includes three parts.

Main line: Zhuzhou West ~ Dafeng ~ Ma'an (Fangte) ~ Langli (Huangxing) ~ Luotang (Xingsha), and in the future, it will extend to Xiangtan North Station and Changsha West Station respectively at both ends.

Connection line: The main line is set at Langli to connect the existing Changsha Maglev Express Line (high-speed rail Changsha South Station~Airport), making it possible to connect Changsha South Station and Changsha Huanghua Airport.

Branch line: Pioneer (CITIC Plaza) ~ Yuntang ~ Vaulting Horse (Yuhua) ~ Saddle.

In order to accelerate the integrated development of the Changzhou-Zhuzhou-Tan area, the provincial party committee and the provincial government are committed to building Changsha-Zhuzhou-Tan on the track. The "Multi-level Rail Transit Plan for the Changzhou-Zhuzhou-Tan Metropolitan Area" submitted by Hunan Province has been approved by the National Development and Reform Commission. Among them, Changsha The intercity railway to Zhuzhou starts from Zhuzhou West Station, passes through the downtown area of Zhuzhou and Yunlong area, connects to Luotang Station of Changsha Metro Line 3, and sets up a connecting line in Langli to connect Changsha's existing airport maglev. The project has started the preliminary work such as program formulation and TOD comprehensive development program formulation.

At the provincial level, Hunan Railway Group has made it clear that Hunan Railway Group will be the owner unit of the Changsha-Zhuzhou intercity railway project. The people's governments of Changsha and Zhuzhou will cooperate closely and strive to start construction before December 2024.
