On the morning of May 3, 2023 local time, the commencement ceremony of the 19.9MWac photovoltaic project of Baranoa Phase I in Colombia, undertaken by PowerChina, was held. Li Hai, Deputy Chief Engineer of PowerChina and Deputy General Manager of the Americas Regional Headquarters, attended the ceremony.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Elsa Noguera, Governor of Atlantic Province of Colombia, and Roberto Celedon, Mayor of Baranoa City, delivered warm speeches successively, welcoming Chinese companies to invest in Baranoa City, Atlantic Province of Colombia, and wishing the project a complete success.

Zhang Liping, Chargé d'affaires ad interim of the Chinese embassy in Colombia, delivered a video speech. He said that green energy is an important area of bilateral cooperation between China and Colombia. Chinese companies have participated in 6 Colombian new energy power generation projects, completed projects and projects under construction through investment and construction. The total installed capacity exceeds 170 MW. The start of this project will promote cooperation and exchanges between China and Costa Rica, and is conducive to the establishment of a sustainable and win-win cooperative relationship between the two countries.

Gao Peng, deputy general manager of Three Gorges International, the project owner, said that Three Gorges Latin America will continue to invest in energy projects totaling 500MW in Colombia, starting with the Baranoa Phase I photovoltaic project, to help Colombia realize green energy transformation. Early completion.

Li Hai said that PowerChina will be guided by customer needs, ensure high-quality and efficient performance of the contract, and deliver the project on schedule. He firmly believes that the implementation of the Baranoa Phase I project will become an important milestone for the two sides to deepen cooperation in new energy.

Before the start of the project, the PowerChina project team prepared a careful construction plan to ensure that the project was completed on schedule. The smooth start of the project has laid a solid foundation for PowerChina to further develop the new energy market in the Colombian market.
