On May 12, 2023, the 2023 Container Port Automation Transformation Technology Development Forum was held in Tianjin. The forum focused on topics such as intelligence, efficiency, safety, reliability, and project cycle, discussed the technical path and system solutions for terminal automation transformation, and observed the operation of 14 sets of four-rope tire cranes after the automation upgrade of Tianjin Port Pacific Container Terminal. Through in-depth exchanges, we have explored a Chinese solution for upgrading traditional terminals to smart ports that can be replicated and promoted.
The forum was co-hosted by China Ports Association Container Branch and Tianjin Port Group, co-organized by Sany Marine Heavy Industry, and chaired by Zhang Ruxing, Secretary General of China Ports Association Container Branch. For a long time, the long production period, low degree of automation, and low system efficiency have been the pain points of the automatic transformation of tire cranes.
As one of the organizers, Yang Jiemin, vice president of Tianjin Port Group, pointed out that the construction of domestic automated terminals has surpassed the speed of foreign countries, but there are greater challenges in yard automation transformation. It is our responsibility to face challenges and pain points and explore solutions. The starting point and landing point of the forum.
Wu Qiang, vice president of Tianjin Port Co., Ltd., believes that the current technical solution for the transformation of four-rope tire cranes still needs to be further optimized. The systemic problem of efficiency must be solved through multi-party cooperation, and at the same time, the efficiency acceptance standard for the port industry must be formulated.
Huang Liheng, consultant of Yantian Donggang, hopes that the host manufacturers will consider more from the user's perspective during the design and implementation stages of the transformation, how to use the minimum civil engineering and equipment costs to obtain greater benefits, such as redundancy, safety, etc. While reducing the number of equipment sensors and ensuring safety, it can also reduce the operation and maintenance costs of the terminal.
Chen Wenjun of Ningbo Meidong Container Terminal Co., Ltd. pointed out that the construction of smart ports is an inevitable trend in the market. At the meeting, based on the case of Meidong Wharf, he focused on sharing information technology application coordination and production conflicts, improving the new infrastructure in the port area to promote vehicle-road coordination technology, and digital and intelligent transformation of the terminal.
Zhou Jianyong of Ningbo Beilun First Container Terminal Co., Ltd. suggested that industry associations formulate standards for efficiency definitions and calculation methods. At present, wireless communication technology and the large number of perception systems of various host manufacturers have become pain points for industry maintenance and transformation.
Hong Kong International Container Terminals Co., Ltd. Wu Jialun shared from the aspect of automation equipment maintenance, and believed that the difficulty of later maintenance and long cycle are the pain points that the industry needs to solve urgently.
At the discussion meeting, the technical experts of each port shared their own business reality and the status quo of the terminal, respectively shared the planning of automation and the challenges they faced, the urgency of the remote dispatching and operation standards of the port industry, the definition of efficiency standards, automation The pressure of equipment maintenance and the demand for wireless communication have reached a consensus.
Because of the high technical difficulty, Tianjin Port Group decided to conduct joint development with Sany Marine Heavy Industry in the Pacific Container Terminal, and has successfully launched the HI-MOVE intelligent four-rope automation solution. At this forum, the technical person in charge of the project said that the HI-MOVE solution successfully broke through key technical difficulties such as safety, efficiency, intelligence and batch delivery, and solved the four-rope anti-sway and anti-twist, high-precision pick-and-place box Identification, intelligent scheduling of yard tasks, etc.
HI-MOVE·high efficiency
Aiming at the efficiency problem after the automation transformation of the traditional four-rope tire crane, the HI-MOVE solution integrates the Sany SCC operation and control framework to achieve super-strong operation and control coverage. The self-developed automatic deviation correction system for large vehicles has a horizontal and vertical accuracy better than ± 30mm. Based on the laser point cloud + AI image technology, it realizes the fully automatic pick-and-place box of the yard and the inner collection truck, and the remote semi-automatic operation of the outer collection truck.
Starting from September 1, 2022, automated production operations have been completed. The 14 RTG automation transformation projects at Tianjin Port Pacific Wharf have completed more than 300,000 TEU operations.
HI-MOVE·High reliability
The HI-MOVE solution integrates more than 30 types of safety early warning systems, which is the most in the industry. It realizes all-round 360-degree coverage of lanes, box areas, and equipment, and multi-level and multi-scale correction and protection measures to achieve full speed. Ensure that the tire crane offset is ≤35mm, and the positioning accuracy is ≤±30mm.
HI-MOVE·high intelligence
The HI-MOVE solution integrates Sany SSS intelligent framework, based on ergonomic design, adopts various intelligent technologies such as fully automatic capacity analysis, man-machine ratio analysis, intelligent car/box change, etc., to achieve a simple and comfortable top-level operating experience . The 1:4 man-machine ratio and the video delay time of less than 200 milliseconds allow intelligent technology to help users improve efficiency and reduce error rates.
HI-MOVE ▪ Fast delivery
According to reports, the 14 RTG automation transformation project of Tianjin Port Pacific Container Terminal will start from October 15, 2021 to August 31, 2022. All transformation and commissioning work will be completed, and automated and normalized production operations will begin, which will last 9.5 months. .
It is reported that the transformation of 14 sets of equipment has been carried out in batches. The first batch of 7 sets of equipment will be transformed on October 15, 2021, and will be put into trial operation on April 30, 2022, which will last 6.5 months. After the successful technical verification, the second batch of 3 sets of equipment was shut down for renovation on May 30, 2022, and delivered for operation on July 15, 2022. On the same day, the last batch of 4 pieces of equipment also started shutting down for renovation and will be delivered until August 31. The last two batches of equipment transformation lasted 1.5 months each.
The HI-MOVE intelligent four-rope automation solution starts from the difficulties and pain points in the upgrading and transformation of traditional container terminals, and breaks out a "Chinese path" that can be implemented and replicated. power.Editor/XingWentao
