Recently, the CSCEC New York Long Island Railroad Reconstruction and Expansion Project has completed the final finishing work, and officially received the project substantial completion certificate issued by the owner, the New York Metropolitan Rapid Transit Authority. The project successfully overcame a series of difficulties and realized the full opening to traffic and substantive completion according to the original contract schedule, which was highly praised by the New York Metropolitan Rapid Transit Authority as a remarkable achievement.

The completion of the Long Island Rail Road Renovation and Expansion Project resolved a long-term bottleneck affecting LIRR operations and increased the system's capacity by 41 percent. At the same time, the reliability, safety, and flexibility of railroad operations increased dramatically, and commuting times between Long Island, New York, and Manhattan were shortened.

Jano Liebier, chairman and CEO of the New York Metropolitan Rapid Transit Authority, praised the CSCEC US company design-build consortium at the opening ceremony, and pointed out that: the project can be completed on time, and it is about 100 million US dollars lower than the original budget, marking the The New York Metropolitan Transit Authority can achieve faster, better and lower cost in the construction and delivery of mega-projects.

Jamie Torres-Springer, president of development and construction for the New York Metropolitan Rapid Transit Authority, added: This is a demonstration project. It sets the benchmark for future MTA projects.

The Long Island Rail Road is one of the busiest commuter railroads in the United States, with a history of nearly two hundred years. As the largest individual contract project in the history of the New York Metropolitan Rapid Transit Authority and the most important part of the $6 billion Long Island investment plan in New York, the project has always been highly concerned by governments at all levels and the general public in New York. The successful implementation of the project has not only brought huge social and economic benefits to the local society, but also demonstrated CSCEC America's ability to operate super-large and complex projects in the international high-end market.Editor/Ma Xue
