On May 16, 2023, Huating Coal Industry Company and the People's Government of Ulanhot City, Xing'an League, Inner Mongolia signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement for a wind power hydrogen storage industrialization project. Ma Shugang, member of the Standing Committee of the Ulanhot Municipal Party Committee, deputy mayor, and relevant persons in charge of Huaneng Coal Industry Co., Ltd. attended the signing ceremony.

The wind power hydrogen storage industrialization project plans to invest 3 billion yuan. With the 500,000-kilowatt wind power project as the core engine, it will be deeply involved in the hydrogen production industry, coal-fired transformation of thermal power plants, construction of cold chain logistics parks, and coal supply guarantees. After the completion of the project, it is estimated that the average annual tax payment will reach 84 million yuan. At the same time, it can effectively stimulate the development of related production, processing and manufacturing industries in Ulanhot, and boost the high-quality development of energy in Ulanhot.

This project is an important measure for the coal industry company to thoroughly implement the strategic goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, actively respond to the national energy green transformation strategy, accelerate the construction of a modern clean energy system, and promote local economic and social development.
