Recently, the Zhangping Pumped Storage Power Station Project in Longyan City, Fujian Province held a signing ceremony in Zhangping, Longyan City. This project will be the first of 23 major investment projects in Longyan City in 2023.

It is reported that the Zhangping pumped storage power station project is located in Zhongcun Village, Shuangyang Town, Zhangping City, with a total investment of more than 8 billion yuan, a planned total installed capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts, and four 300MW vertical shaft single-stage mixed-flow reversible hydroelectric generating units designed for Daily regulation of pure pumped storage power plants. The total construction period of the project is 70 months. The main buildings of the pivot project are composed of upper reservoir, lower reservoir, water delivery system, underground powerhouse and switch station. After the project is completed and put into operation, the total annual power generation capacity can reach 1.896 billion kwh, and the annual electricity sales revenue is expected to be 780 million yuan.

This project fills the gap in the layout of pumped storage power stations in northwestern Fujian, and will undertake important tasks such as peak regulation, valley filling, frequency regulation, phase regulation, and emergency backup in the Fujian power system. After the project is completed and put into use, it can save about 150,000 tons of standard coal per year, reduce sulfur dioxide emissions by 2,000 tons, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 300,000 tons, with remarkable environmental benefits.
