It is reported that on May 31, 2023, the right track of the shield tunneling section between Baotai Avenue Station and Changhong Square Station on the Ziyang Line was successfully connected, indicating that the first intercity rail transit line in southwestern China has been fully connected, laying a solid foundation for the opening and operation of the line.

The Ziyang Rail Transit Line is a high-speed rail transit line that connects Chengdu Tianfu International Airport, Tianfu International Airport New City, and Ziyang City. The total length of the line is 38.69 kilometers, with a total of 7 stations. The underground construction tasks mainly include 4 underground stations and 4 shield tunneling sections, with a total length of 10.2 kilometers.

This time, Baotai Avenue Station Changhong Square Station, which is connected to Dongtong, will cross the Tuojiang River, the first bridge of Tuojiang River and other major risk source in a long distance. To ensure the safe and smooth progress of the project, the project team has invited domestic experts in the field of shield tunneling to conduct multiple on-site investigations and analyses. In response to the special geological conditions of the excavation section, a dual mode shield tunneling machine with soil pressure and mud water is used for excavation construction.

Compared with the traditional shield machine, the dual-mode shield machine can flexibly switch between the earth pressure and mud water modes according to the actual situation of the site excavation geology and risk source, with high safety performance and obvious comprehensive advantages. During the construction process, the builders conduct real-time big data analysis on shield tunneling parameters, surface settlement data, etc., and adopt a series of measures such as 3D visualization real-time display and remote intelligent monitoring to ensure accurate tunneling by the shield tunneling machine.

After the opening and operation of the Ziyang Line of rail transit, it will create convenience for green travel of residents along the line.
