Recently, in Shengli Oil Field Petrochemical Complex, Shikou Town, Dongying District, Shandong Province, the photovoltaic Electrolysed water hydrogen production demonstration project of Shengli Oil Field Petrochemical Complex was successfully put into operation, and the first set of megawatt green electricity alkaline water hydrogen production project was officially put into operation.

The photovoltaic Electrolysed water hydrogen production demonstration project of Sinopec Shengli Oil Field Petrochemical Complex uses the green power generated by the built 6MW distributed photovoltaic power generation project as a clean power source, builds a set of alkaline Electrolysed water hydrogen production device in the plant area, and supports energy storage devices to ensure stable operation during the day. The product hydrogen is piped into the hydrogen pipe network of the petrochemical plant, and a new hydrogen loading area is built to meet the external supply demand of hydrogen loading to the Hydrogen station, etc. The project is divided into three modules: photovoltaic power generation module, with an installed capacity of 6MW; Hydrogen production module of Electrolysed water, with hydrogen production capacity of 500Nm3/h; Electrochemical energy storage module with an installed capacity of 1MW/1.2MWh. The project uses the alkaline Electrolysed water hydrogen production process to produce green hydrogen, with an annual output of 123 tons of green hydrogen with a purity of 99.999%. Compared with the existing dry gas hydrogen production, the annual emission reduction of carbon dioxide is 2535 tons.

The photovoltaic Electrolysed water hydrogen production demonstration project of Sinopec Shengli Oil Field Petrochemical Complex was highly valued and strongly supported by leaders at all levels of Dongying and the oilfield at the beginning of project establishment, and the project was included in the hydrogen energy industry development plan of Dongying City (2022-2025) as a key promotion project of green hydrogen substitution for refining enterprises. The project operation will accumulate development experience for the oilfield to accelerate the formation of 10000 tons of hydrogen production capacity, It can also make beneficial explorations for the demonstration and application of the hydrogen energy industry in the Dongying region, and promote the development of the hydrogen energy industry chain.

This demonstration project has accelerated the development of new Energy development, laid out the hydrogen energy industry, and built a green electricity hydrogen production line, which is an important part of accelerating the clean and low-carbon transformation of energy. At the same time, it is of great significance for optimizing the industrial structure of the park and strengthening the town economy.
