On the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Myanmar, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Chen Hai attended the signing and exchange ceremony of China Myanmar cooperation documents, such as the 2023 Myanmar project of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund, the new batch of 3 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine of China's assistance to Myanmar, the materials project of Myanmar's assistance for modern training laboratories, and the feasibility study of Myanmar's assistance for the reconstruction project of Aung San Stadium. Ministers or senior representatives of 10 federal ministries, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs of Foreign relations of Myanmar, attended the meeting.
Ambassador Chen Hai gave a speech reviewing the history of friendly exchanges between China and Myanmar since the establishment of diplomatic relations, stating that the signing of a series of exchange cooperation documents today aims to commemorate the 73rd anniversary of diplomatic relations with practical actions, inherit and carry forward the friendship between China and Myanmar, and promote new achievements in China Myanmar cooperation.
Ambassador Chen said that China's friendly policy towards Economy of Myanmar is open to all Burmese people. The Lancang-Mekong Cooperation and China's aid projects to Myanmar demonstrate the spirit of a community of common destiny between China and Myanmar, which will help Myanmar's economic and social development and improve people's livelihood. A new batch of 3 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine for Myanmar has arrived in Yangon on the evening of June 7, and the first batch of relief supplies from the Chinese government for Myanmar will be delivered on June 12. China is willing to continue to provide assistance to Myanmar's development within its capabilities, and work with Myanmar to promote exchanges and cooperation in various fields between the two countries to achieve more tangible results, benefiting both countries and their people.
Myanmar's Foreign Minister Tansui delivered a speech stating that Myanmar and China are connected by mountains and rivers, and the people of the two countries have a deep bond. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties, the two countries have always adhered to the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, treated each other with mutual respect and equality, constantly deepened mutually beneficial cooperation and supported each other on multilateral occasions. Thank you to the Chinese government and people for providing generous donations after Myanmar was hit by Cyclone Mucha, which reflects the spirit of a shared future between Myanmar and China in times of adversity. The cooperation documents signed and exchanged this time show the fruitful results of Myanmar China cooperation and will help Economy of Myanmar's economic and social development.
After the signing ceremony, Ambassador Chen Hai exchanged views with the heads of relevant Burmese departments on exchanges and cooperation in multiple fields between China and Myanmar.Editor/Ma Xue
