At 8:30 am on June 14, 2023, witnessed by the Minister of Industry and Trade of Mozambique, Sveno Moreno, and local media, Tsingshan and the Mozambican government jointly signed a memorandum of cooperation for the Mozambique Green Industrial Park project. Sun Jianqiang, the person in charge of Tsingshan Mozambique Green Industrial Park Co., Ltd., and Ruge Zaizus, the Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Mozambique, respectively signed memorandums on behalf of both parties, reaching an agreement on Tsingshan's investment in the construction of the largest green industrial park, port and terminal, Africa's Great Corridor and other projects in Mozambique.

Tsingshan will make phased investments in Mozambique and is committed to planning, constructing, and operating the largest green industrial park in Africa over a decade. The park is also the largest economic zone and industrial duty-free zone established in Mozambique. The industrial park is located in Sofala Province Province, Mozambique, covering an area of about 30000 hectares, and will cover industrial area, energy area and living and business area.

The park plans to support infrastructure such as roads, ports and docks, photovoltaic power plants, transmission and transformation lines, water supply systems, and bonded logistics warehouses. The industrial zone will also deploy three major industrial chains: mineral resource precision processing, new energy batteries, and solar photovoltaic. The energy zone will be mainly located in Taite Province, and the entire park will comprehensively develop and utilize clean energy such as hydropower, solar energy, and wind energy. The total electricity consumption in the future is planned to reach 7.5GW.

Minister Sveno Moreno, on behalf of the Mozambican government, warmly welcomed and thanked Tsingshan for choosing to invest in Mozambique, and emphasized the epoch-making significance of the establishment of the industrial park for the industrial development of Mozambique. The government promises to fully support the promotion of this project, and the Cabinet of Ministers meeting will grant various permits and authorizations to the project as soon as possible, providing solid support for its smooth implementation.

Sun Jianqiang stated that Tsingshan's Mozambique subsidiary has been officially registered and will work with the Mozambique government to jointly develop local mineral resources; At the same time, Qingshan has always adhered to the concept of green development. We will continue to actively cooperate with the government, learn from Qingshan's successful cooperation model in the Indonesian industrial park, and work together with global excellent enterprises to produce green products, making contributions to global sustainable development; After the completion of the park, it will also attract more industry leaders from around the world to settle in, fill the gap in Mozambique's industrial field, promote national industrialization and revitalization, attract domestic and foreign enterprises from landlocked countries in Southeast Africa to develop together and cooperate for mutual benefit, lay a solid foundation for the development of China Mozambique relations, and add a strong color to Africa's economic development.

Both parties will continue to have in-depth exchanges on follow-up work based on this cooperation memorandum.
