On the morning of June 8, 2023, the mobilization meeting for the construction of the Shuiquan Fanjiayao section of the G109 Beijing Lhasa Highway was held, with a total investment of 5.279 billion yuan.

The project starts at the intersection of Wangjiashan Toll Station Connecting Line of G6 G6 Beijing–Lhasa Expressway and G109 Line, and ends at the Fanjiayao Interchange of Baiyin Transit first-class highway of G109 Line. The total length of the route is 70.955 km. It is constructed according to the technical standards of two-way four lane first-class highway, with a design speed of 80 km/h and a construction period of 36 months.
