Recently, the foundation laying ceremony of Power Construction Corporation of China Iraq DCCP 6000 ton/day cement clinker production line and power plant project was held in Erbil Governorate, Kurdish region, Iraq. Masror Balzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdish region of Iraq, Alaz Mirhan, Chairman of Dabin Group, Ren Ge, Chief Representative of CITIC Baodibai Representative Office, Chen Guanfu, General Manager of the Company, Pang Xu, General Manager of Sinohydro Bureau 4, and representatives from all walks of life in the Kurdish region attended the ceremony.

Balzani highly praised the contributions made by all parties involved in promoting the industrialization development of the Kurdish region in his speech. He stated that the cement plant project meets the needs of diversified economic development in the Kurdish region, and will provide about 1000 job positions during the project construction process. After completion, it will greatly reduce dependence on cement imports. The cement plant is destined to become one of the most important industrial facilities in the Kurdish region and will play a crucial role in promoting the reconstruction of the Iraqi country, with the potential to become a beacon of industrial progress in the Kurdish region.

Chen Guanfu thanked the reservoir area government, Dabin Group and China Export&Credit Insurance Corporation for their support in the project promotion process. He said that the cement plant project is a strategic project to implement the results of the first China Arab Summit and the leaders' meeting of the two countries, and constantly promote the high-quality development of the the Belt and Road jointly built by China and Iran. Power Construction Corporation of China will live up to its great trust, promote high-quality project performance with first-class management, build a model for China Iran production capacity cooperation, and present a gift for the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Iran.

The cement plant project is located in Erbil Governorate Province, Kurdish region, Iraq. The main work includes the construction of a 6000 t/d cement clinker production line and a 52 MW heavy oil power station as its own power supply. The project fully utilizes local mining resources and leverages the advantages of Dabin Group and China in terms of funding, construction, and equipment. The implementation of the project will effectively promote production capacity cooperation between China and Iraq, provide high-quality building materials for the Iraqi market, and also create employment opportunities, increase residents' income, and provide impetus for local socio-economic development.Editor/Ma Xue
