On June 27, 2023, the Department of Transport of Zhejiang Province released the bid evaluation results of the general contracting project for the design and construction of the China National Highway 104 Hangzhou Hezhuang Yaqian Section. The project is divided into two sections, which were won by local powerful enterprises. The total estimated investment of the project is about 17.03 billion yuan, and the estimated construction and installation costs are about 10.19 billion yuan.

Project Overview

The China National Highway 104 Hangzhou Hezhuang Yaqian Section starts from Hezhuang Street, Qiantang District, Hangzhou, at the intersection of Binjiang 2nd Road and Jiangdong 3rd Road, connects with the current Jiangdong 3rd Road and the planned river crossing channel, extends southward, passes through Nanyang Street, Hongshan Farm and Guali Town, Xiaoshan District, and ends at Yaqian Town, the junction of Hangzhou and Shaoxing. The viaduct connects with the China National Highway 104 Shaoxing Section, and the terminal stake number is GK22+804, The end point of the ground road is to the south of Hang Yong Ship Canal Bridge and smoothly connects with the existing ground road. The end point stake is DK22+750. The main line is about 22.8 km long, of which the Qiantang District section is about 4.7 km long and the Xiaoshan District section is about 18.1 km long. The total length of ground roads is about 22.9 km, including about 4.8 km in Qiantang District and about 18.1 km in Xiaoshan District. There are 2 21732m super large bridges, 20 1986m ground bridges, and 6 interchanges along the entire line, including 3 fully reserved interchanges, 2 partially reserved interchanges, 1 fully implemented interchanges, 1 highway service station, 1 parking area, and the reconstruction of airport high-speed toll stations and management buildings.
