On June 28, 2023, the opening ceremony of the Science and Innovation Future City of the National University Science Park of China University of Petroleum and the unveiling ceremony of the Huihuihu Enterprise (Dongying) Industrial Base were held in Dongying Economic Development Zone. Both the school and the local government will continue to deepen comprehensive strategic cooperation, fully leverage the role of the university science and technology park platform as a carrier, and rely on the Science and Technology Innovation Future City to build the Huihui Lake Enterprise (Dongying) Industrial Base, creating a source of scientific and technological innovation in the city.

The ceremony unveiled two new carriers, the Science and Technology Innovation Future City of National University Science Park of China University of Petroleum, and the Huihui Lake Enterprise (Dongying) Industrial Base, as well as five new research and development institutions, including the Biomedical Public Laboratory and Dongying Microbial Technology Research and Application Center. Nine key projects, including Zhejiang Manatee Marine Engineering and Xinfa Medical Research Institute, were collectively signed at the ceremony.

The Science and Technology Innovation Future City is a branch of the University Science and Technology Park jointly built by the University Science and Technology Park and China Urban Investment Group, adhering to the new concept of integrated development of Dayuan District. It is composed of innovation and entrepreneurship centers, standard plants, pilot plants, scientific research buildings and youth apartments. It is a new carrier for the deep integration of school and local education, science and technology, human resources and local industrial advantages, and is committed to building a full chain science and technology innovation service complex.

The Huihuihu Enterprise (Dongying) Industrial Base will take the advantage of alumni resources, drive industrial agglomeration, and promote local economic development as its own responsibility. By utilizing the advantages of platform resource integration and information communication, it will meet the needs of high-level talent introduction and industrial chain connectivity of enterprises, and attract potential hidden champion enterprises to develop locally.
